First up a big thank you to Elizabeth from Elizabeth's Kitchen for hosting January for me. You can find here round up of using up leftover mashed potato here.

This month's theme is preserves. As everyone has just made their new batches of marmalade and in order to prepare for a new year of jam and syrup making I think we need to come up with some inventive ways of using up with the dregs of last year's batches.

Do join in and remember you can republish old posts with the No Waste Food Challenge Badge.

An excellent challenge idea! I have marmalade and lemon prune honey butter in my fridge needing used up. :)

Oh no, I never have any left over preserves! They have always gone before the next batch is made. I might use some fruit from the freezer (not even last year's) to make some preserves though.

I think this is a great choice. Last year was my first year of getting into jam making ad I have many jars of various kinds to use up. I have made my 1st ever batch of marmalade this year too and am trying out batch 2 this weekend with the hope of entering it into the Marmalade awards as a novice of course!

Jolly good idea. I made loads of jams, curds, and mincemeat last year and they all need using up.
